KIWANIS: Fellowship and Service
Kiwanis offers an opportunity for personal involvement in
the leadership and improvement of the community, the nation and the world.
While service is what Kiwanians are known for, their clubs offer much more.
Meetings and projects provide fellowship - fellowship that is sincere and
lasting.
Kiwanians are engaged in education, government, banking,
marketing, agriculture, international trade, non-profit organizations and many
other fields. They are corporate officers, managers, small-business
owners, and self-employed professionals. They are individuals
embarking on careers, successful executives and active retirees.
The Busy Person Makes Time for Kiwanis
Let's face it: People are busy with family, friends,
careers, hobbies and other interests. Kiwanis offers an affordable
opportunity - one that costs a little time, not a lot of money - to make a
difference in the community. Members decide how much time and money they
want to invest.
Club meetings offer an atmosphere of fun, learning, and
fellowship, while providing a welcome change in the daily routine. In
addition to attending the meetings, the typical Kiwanian volunteers time each
month in club service projects.
The typical Kiwanis club plans numerous projects each year
that focus on the special needs of its community. Each club has its own
projects as well as those jointly sponsored by all clubs.
Kiwanis also provides leadership opportunities in
community service for youth. We sponsor Builders Clubs in middle schools,
Key Clubs in High Schools, and Circle K at the College and University level.

Membership Commitments
- Attendance - We have access to a
fascinating range of speakers, who, in all fairness, deserve a sizeable
audience. Each member's attendance is important. Guests are welcome,
especially when a distinguished speaker is on the agenda.
- Fellowship - We achieve this partly
through the meetings where members get to know each other. Committee work and social activities augment this feeling of fellowship.
- Committee Work - As a service club we
support a variety of projects and activities each year (e.g. Kiwanis Music
Festival, Kiwanis Park, Builders Club, Key Clubs, Circle K Clubs, ROOF, Mary's
Place, Wonders of Winter, Victoria Park Christmas Lights, 4H, Air Cadets, etc.).
- Enthusiasm - We hope and expect each
member to share his experience and enthusiasm in serving the needs of Kiwanis.
ONE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE - COULD YOU BE
THE ONE?
